Minecraft stuff: McMaps (PHP code to write text into map items) and an adventure

append delete Kroc

Hello all. If you're interested in Minecraft stuff, then I have news for you.

McMaps is a set of PHP classes for putting custom images and text into the maps within Minecraft. There wasn’t any tools available to do this on the Mac, so I made one. Because Minecraft doesn’t have any means to write books in the game, most adventure map makers use signs, or custom map items with the text printed on them.

McMaps is unlike any other such tool because it has the ability to write 'books'. You just provide it a lot of text and it automatically generates numbered 'pages' with your text word-wrapped and hyphenated for you!

See the code and screenshots here: https://github.com/Kroc/McMaps

The reason I’ve written this is because me and Prenuntius have been messing about with building an adventure map of sorts. There’s some screenshots of a port town we’ve been building here: https://imgur.com/a/KzbxS

According to the original post: https://github.com/Kroc/McMaps

I don't know if the project is still going, but if it is, it will be there. I can't verify that myself -- github is one of the most ridiculously bloated sites on the Internet (worse than freaking Facebook), and I usually give up on it after the first ten minutes of staring at the empty void in my browser.

You need to download PHP NBT too, and put it in the nbt folder; that said, there's no need to use this script for writing any more since you can just use actual books in Minecraft now.
