Beats Mozilla's insane Tab Groups that I will _never_ use. Over-engineering at its finest.

Off-Topic Curiosity: A few time ago, a new bug in bugzilla appeared to request that Mozilla Panorama's tab groups were window based (I wish I had that bug's ID). This would make their over-engineered tab group system much simpler and intuitive, as each group would simply be a window, literally. Unfortunately, the design change is deep, and so it won't make it for Firefox 4, if it is accepted at all.

About the topic itself... I like the idea, but I certainly would need to get used to it (just like I'd need to get used to Mozilla's Panorama). The only thing I'd like to find out is if there is some way to browse trough collapsed stacks without having to expand them, just like (using Opera's analogy on the video) people grab piles of paper, check them quickly and take the one they want, without having to display all papers over the table just to choose one.

Yay Opera! They do it again and again and again.

Haven't tried Opera 11 yet. Opera bugs me sometimes though. I always find some little unexpected quirk in their layout engine.

I used to like Opera more, because the makers of it do seem very motivated and willing to keep it up to date, but as time went on I noticed more and more small little glitches with the rendering.

I don't doubt it's a very usable, user-friendly and well designed browser, it's just those little things that get me. Who knows though, maybe they fixed a lot of the quirks I'm talking about in version 11. I haven't upgraded yet, still using 10.6.

Ah, just looked at some pics. opera.com/…

Yeah, those tabs do look pretty nice.

I upgrade Opera on a weekly basis, and so far have not once been bitten by it... in other words, I would recommend this even to my mom:

@Jose Pedro Arvela
Howering over a stacked group will show you all the tabs in that group as thumbnails :)

I've never been a big fan of Opera, but I just downloaded the beta and I love it!! Let's see if it can beat Google Chrome :P

mart, I'm talking about rendering bugs/quirks that inhibit a design and in turn dissent from the specification. Do renderings need to be exactly the same? No. But same to the degree defined in the specs? Yes.

Don't get me wrong, I have respect for Opera, but it seems to throw me a curve ball every now and then. I can find major inconsistencies between gecko and webkit as well, but opera seems to do it slightly more often.

I will say I am impressed by Opera for certain features they implement, they're always keeping up to date. For example, they're the first browser to support the (global) content property to a high degree - something I've wanted for a long time.
