Subforum timestamp preview

append delete theraje

On the index page, the subforum list shows no indication of when the last post was created. If one has subforums, it would be helpful for users to be able to tell when a forum was last posted to. So, I propose that the subforum headers on the index page show the timestamp (and maybe the author) of the latest post in that subforum.

My only concern is that because nothing is cached, reading into the sub folders and will add extra processing weight to the home page, but I doubt it’s much. I’ll look into this as I would find it a useful feature too.

Nice. This forum is *really* coming together. Looks great, not overloaded with bloat. Makes a forum system actually worth using, ...could even redeem forums altogether. Also, I've been meaning to point out, I really like that there is no quote button. People always end up spam clicking a quote button and it just clutters the entire page with redundant quotes.

I want to port this to Node to maybe test out my framework (which itself follows a no nonsense philosophy), but I'm not sure how I'll deal with the RSS. I guess I'll have to include an XML parser, or try to write my own lighter one specifically for RSS. Storing the data as something else seems to violate the philosophy of this forum!

I could do with some help getting NNF to release status, I’d like to advertise it on the main website so that others can put it to use and gather more feedback from practical use.

A lot of the big features are done (quotes / appending), so I would say we’re in beta and it just needs polish enough to give to others.

(Leave this as-is, it’s a trap!)

There is no need to “register”, just enter the same name + password of your choice every time.
